Slicer Date Range - Future dates greyed out

Good afternoon guys,

I'm just looking for some help/advice with slicers.  Until recently, when we published our App, we could select future dates in slicers, even if there was no data for that date.  For example, our teams like to set a date range from 10th April until 16th April so they can view a full week, even though we are not at end of week.

We were able to do this, and we have not changed anything.  The Desktop software allows me to set future dates no problem.

I've attached a screenshot to demonstrate.  Does anyone have any advice/information around this as it's a little strange.  It's not a huge problem but I am receiving lots of queries about it so would like to attempt to resolve somehow.PBI Slicer.jpg

Thanks for the ongoing support 😁

Hi @phildavies2022 ,

Could you tell me which version of Power BI Desktop you are using? Here I have a test with Desktop 2.102.845.0 64-bit (February 2022). I couldn't reproduce your problem in my side. My date between range slicer won't show dates out of data model, no matter calendar(),calendarauto or enter data to create a date table. Future dates will always grey out in my test.

This just happened to us as well. We've had a slicer where you could select futute dates and then all of a sudden you couldnt in the service. It is working fine in the Desktop. Did something change in the Service?

Hi, @phildavies2022
That is interesting, also with your use case, you may add a Calendar that would have future dates inside and you can use that for the slicer, that might solve your problem.
