Showing percentage values in visuals

Hi All,

I am new to power BI and I have a clarification regarding how to show % in my visual. I use a free desktop version.

I want my visual to change colors based on the value, since I have the data with me, I inserted color code (without calc/new measure) for simplicity purpose. But I am unable to get the percentage or the desired output. Could anyone kindly advise.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Sanblas26

Your first picture is from the Query Editor - that's where you've set to %

You'll have to do the same in the Data/Report View - select the Percentage Column - go to Modeling Tab - Format: Percentage

Hope this helps! Smiley Happy

Sean, Thank you, my data type formatting is disabled. Is there any work around for this problem?

Thanks in advance.Disabled modelling tabDisabled modelling tab

I am facing the same problem. My Data Source is Sql Server Table.

Power Query Editor has the data marked as Percentage (Datatype) but this is not reflecting in the Power BI Visualization (either in Table or in other Reports).

Its working. After selecting the " Specific Column" under "Fields" pane.Community_PowerBI_PercentageDIsplayIssue.png

Hi @Sanblas26,

Which data source did you connect to? If data is imported to the report, make sure you already selected the [Percentage] column under the table then data format should be available.

To download the SSAS tabular sample database, you can find it here: Adventure Works Internet Sales Tabular Sample Database. For more information regarding SSAS, you can post a thread in SQL Server Analysis Services forum.

I am not connected to SSAS Tabular, but I am going to try that out now. I see a lot of versions of it, it would be great if you could tell me which one to download . Thanks again 🙂
