Hi everyone,
I'm rather new to Power BI and was wondering whether there is function to only show a specific rank of a table based on a measure.
E.g. I want to create a podium with 1st 2nd and 3rd place (based on a measure that counts the race points) and need visuals for each place.
What would be the measure to only show 'Williams' on a Card Visual?
Thanks in advance!
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can use a measure which returns a number as a filter, so you could use your Rank measure. Add the Name column to the card visual, then add Rank as a filter to show only when the value is 3.
I can not filter based on a measure. It won't let me click anything, eventhough it looks like I should be able to click the dropdown menu
make sure that the Format of the Rank measure is set to Whole Number
It is, but I can still not use it as a Filter
at what level are you applying the filter, page or visual? because it will only work at visual level. SQL BI have an interesting article on measures as filters
I am applying the filter at visual level. Is it possible to get a calculated column for the Rank Function instead of a measure?
If so, what would it be if thats my measure?
I think that that code would also work for a calculated column, but bear in mind that it will not be affected by any slicers or filters, so you could not for example choose a date range
Unfortunately it does not work..
Try
Rank = RANKX(
ALL(constructors),
[Points]
)
