Sharepoint connection error

Hi All,
I have a problem with connection to the organizational sharepoint site.

I want to use an online file as a datasource, but I cannot access that.

https:/XXXXXXXXXX-my.sharepoint.com/:x:/r/personal/tomasz_XXXXXXXX_XXXXXXXX_com/_layouts/15/Doc.aspx...

I get different types of errors, I do not know what to do with that.

When I am trying to use sharepoint list I am getting this kind of error:

Details: "Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed: OData Version: 3 and 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Not Found) OData Version: 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Not Found) OData Version: 3, Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Not Found)"

Right now when I am trying to connect it via WEB datasource, I am getting an error message:

Details: "Access to the resource is forbidden."

even if in the data sources settings I have mine organizational credentials with the type 'Organizational' or 'Private'.

Could someone help me with this issue?

Hi @t0meky ,

You could try to clear the data source credentials and try to connect again.

You can also refer to this thread for other connection methods:https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Sharepoint-connection-internal-server-error/m-p/634587

Hi @V-lianl-msft

I was able to connect power bi with mine folder in sharepoint, but right now I am not able to figure out how to load a file from this folder. All the data looks like one table, but I have lots of excel files in my folder and I am thinking how can I access one of them and load it into pbi.

Could you give me a hint about that?

Regards,
Tomasz

Hi @V-lianl-msft ,
update - I am able to open the excel file in powerbi from sharepoint, it was successfully done by me.

Right now there is another problem - I would like to make a refresh schedule, I was able to set it in manage section in power bi report server, but while trying to test connection in data sources tab, after using 'Test connection' button I got an error:

The report server couldn't connect to the data source using the information you entered. Make sure you've entered the connection string and any credentials correctly.

Hide error details

SharePoint: Request failed: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.

For both authentication types - anonymous and windows credentials, I am not able to connect to the datasource.

Could you help me with it?

Regards,
Tomasz

Hi,

the issue is (I guess) in authentication than in some errors in an input file.

I am able to use domain authentication (by email and password), but it is not available under my file in a Power Bi Server.

The only authentication available is Anonymous and Windows, which are not working properly while the report preparation.

Regards,
Tomasz
