In a report that worked fine for months, I used the SharePoint List connector to bring form responses into Power BI and followed that with an R script to flatten that data and calculate weighted averages based on the values in individual form responses.
Now when refreshing I get a 404 from SharePoint but only after the step with the R Script execution. This suggests to me that there is a mismatch between the permission levels for the data sources. When it was working they were both set to organizational, so I tried setting them both to public and still have the same problem.
I can still access the list in browser using these credentials.
This is not a gateway issue as it won't work in desktop either and all my other queries containing R scripts are fine.
Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe this is something to do with permissions on the Sharepoint side that was changed?
Hi @Anonymous ,
If your site is Office365, please enter organizational credential using the third option in the above screenshot. If your site is on premise, use Windows credentials as you mentioned. In addition, make sure that you use the latest version of Power BI Desktop.
For more details about connecting to SharePoint list from Power BI Desktop, please review this similar article: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Connect-to-a-SharePoint-List-Power-Query-3226f248-f8b3-4777... .

I don't think it would have worked for several months if I did not enter the credentials correctly.
I did happen to update to the latest version of Desktop while trouble-shooting, although this is a problem in Service as well as Desktop, so I don't see that that would help either.
Hi @Anonymous ,
If you still have this issue for Power BI, you'd better create a support ticket in Power BI Support , Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET", to get further help.
