Hello Good People,
I don't understand why this doesn't work.
I have two tables bot must be updated monthly.
My Fact Table is fine, I add new files to my Folder then I link it via SharePoint link, click Refresh, all done.
The file for my second DIM table I would also like to just add/replace the file in my folder and click refresh in PBI.
The issue is that PBI doesn't see the file.
I pretty much tried 'everything' meaning I have saved the file under a different name, I fileterd by only (.xlsx) and all and expanded teh serach and not. The file is just not showing.
I have checked my link and seems ok.
What are my options please? How to find my file?
Many thanks,
jiCAT

@Anonymous Instead of creating a PBI report from scratch, you can try bringing in the files in the folder in a new PBIX file and if it works there, then copy everything from the "advance editor" to your original file and replace the existing one and see if it works.
As you said, format of the excel spreadsheet has changed and hence, there might be some disconnect which powerBi might be unable to notify you about.
Hi @Anonymous ,
If it's convenient, you can check whether the files in the SharePoint folder that are changed and replaced have the same data structure as the one before the replacement? (Table name, field name, field type, field order should be consistent), if not, then in the data refresh will be reported "Column doesn't exist in the rowset" error, this is because the Power BI service data refresh is not an architecture refresh, but a simple data refresh.

If you check and confirm, please expand and provide specific error details in text format.

Hi Liu,
Thank you. The issue is that the format of my Excel spredheet changed, I have added new columns, removed other. I thaught that I could just start fresh so I thaught that if Ichane the name of the spreadhseet I could just start fresh with the new spreadsheet, but PBI refuses to aknowledge the new file. It doesn't see it.
Should I then create my PBI Report from scratch or is there a way around it?
Thank you kindly,
JT

Hi @LP280388
I figured it out! Yeah! The file was just not showing, nowewhere to be found, so I sorted the column Asc. and it's there!!! i guess it needed a little refresher of a sort.
Thank you for your assistance.
Kindest regards,
JT
