Shape Map General Availability

Good morning,
Our organisation have used shape maps in preview and noted this feature has been in preview for some time. Are there any plans to make this feature generally available as we would find this feature tremendously helpful but are awaiting general availability. Do you have any update?

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the Shape Map visual was already generally available in Power BI. It was released in July 2019 as part of the Power BI Desktop update. It is possible that your organization may not have updated to the latest version of Power BI Desktop, which could be why the feature is still in preview for you.

To check if you have the latest version of Power BI Desktop and if the Shape Map visual is generally available for you, you can go to the Power BI website and check the release notes for the latest version of Power BI Desktop. The release notes will include information on the availability of the Shape Map visual and any other new features and updates.

If you have the latest version of Power BI Desktop and the Shape Map visual is still in preview for you, you can try enabling preview features in Power BI Desktop. To do this, go to the File menu, select Options and settings, and then select Options. Under Preview features, turn on the toggle for Shape Map visual.

Note that enabling preview features may have some risks and limitations, so it is recommended to test them thoroughly before using them in a production environment.

Thank you @mohdasaad94  good shout re the latest version of PBI. We are on the April 2023 version so should be OK in that respect. I wonder if anyone from Microsoft can clarify the position, given the response above compared to the 'preview' status that your documentation refers to: Use Shape maps in Power BI Desktop (Preview) - Power BI | Microsoft Learn . Also the 'shape map' is still in the list for 'preview features' in desktop.
