Setting Default Value of a Date Slicer for a published report .

I am making a report with a date based slicer in "between" range format. 

I need to publish the report while it shows as default the data relevant for the present day only. 

Is it possible to achieve the above while maintaining the slicers range format?

I'm pretty sure that this has come up before and that the answer is "no".
