Set multiple target lines for a bar graph

Hi all, instead of showing one Target Line for all categories, I would like to set one Target Line for every bar (category) in a bar chart, as example below. Every small line indicates the target sales for every Product.

Hopefully I can achieve that and show in my report. Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous

Here is a bar chart with multiple target lines, which will help you to find the target and actual value differences.

Download link for the custom visual file on this page,

https://pbivizedit.com/gallery/bar-chart-with-multiple-target-lines

This was made with our Custom Visual creator tool PBIVizEdit.com. With this tool,

  • anyone, irrespective of technical skills, can create their visuals
  • 15 minutes to create a visual from scratch
  • opens up many additional attributes to edit (e.g. labels, tooltips, legends position, etc)

Give this a shot and let us know if you face any problems/errors.
You can use the editor to modify your visual further (some modifications cannot be done in Power BI window and have to be in the editor).

Thanks,
Team PBIVizEdit

Hi Benkee

Maybe this a bit old now but you could utilise the Bullet chart to something like this

bullet chart

You would need to add it from the PowerBI Marketplace (free)

The line values are the "Values" and the target lines are the "Target Value"

Could you not create one Target Measure and then use that measure in the visual?

Hi, thank you for the reply. I believe that you are actually referring to this:image.png

However, I am still hope that I can achieve the same result with the target lines as I might have many categories to show on x-axis.

Hi @Anonymous,

Current multiple category and multiple value field not compatible, you can choose one of them to use.
I'd like to suggest you post an idea about use multiple categories and values.
