Set drill down level programmatically

Hi,

suddenly a customer has quite a strange requirement ...

I have a line chart with time as x-axis. There is a hierarchie on the time so a drill down works like a charm.

Now the new requirement that poped up:

When the user selects a specific entry of a slicer then the drill down level of my line chart should go a level deeper.

(From year to quarter if the user selects some kind of product).

I can easily check if the specific selection is done but I miss a methof to tell the line chart that it should change the drill down level.

Is this even possible? (honstly speaking: my fear, it's impossible) 

Maybe I could use a measure (calculation that is shown on the y-axis) that changes according to the selection. But in that case the x-axis is not in sync ...

Any other ideas?
