  • Provided there is data within your model that has today's date (or in your example, if there is data on 01/05/2024, then it will show the dates you want), then add a Relative Date filter to your slicer and set that to this calendar year.

Tob_P  Hi I have future dates as well in my date table like june 2024, july 2024. we can't update file as daily if we insert date as today date in table so even i have future dates in report still user open the report in that day i want show date as that day only.

  • For your requirement to set a default date range in Power BI, I highly recommend trying our Date Picker visual by Powerviz. It's an advanced date slicer that allows you to set a default date range dynamically based on today's date or any custom field you choose.

With features like default selection, presets, full customization, and calendar view, you can easily configure it to automatically adjust the date range when the report is opened. This means you can have the slicer default to a range from 01/01/2024 to today’s date, or any other period you prefer.

You can explore more and see it in action in our live demo. It’s a powerful tool for enhancing your date selection experience!

  • Hi Anonymous - you can try with relative date slicer settings on date field add the date field from your Date table to a slicer.Change the slicer to "Relative Date" by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the filter type.

Include today date also while selection.

    Hope it helps
