Select row in table to filter another table to show all related rows

I have MS training data in Sharepoint and an attachment of attendees in it, i.e., in an.xls file; now I want to show the topics in a matrix, and when I click on the topics in the matrix, it will show me the attendees' details in another matrix. Can someone please help me out on how I can achieve this?
