I have searched high and low online but alas I have not been able to find a solution.
I have results generated from different sample points each day and on some days multiple results can be generated for the same point. If more than one result is generated for a date I need to be able to plot them all.
If I change the date to a numerical value the data can be displayed un-summarised however the date axis then becomes unreadable (Obviously).
I'm sure there must be a work around somewhere but so far I've been unable to locate it.
below is an example of the data that I'm working with.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Hello! I'm also having the same problem, I looked for some alternatives on the internet but I was unsuccessful. It's really strange that Power BI is unable to display the date on the x-axis with aggregation.
Unfortunately not, I just ended up using the Max value for our purposes.
Hi @Beelover
Add a Serial Number or Index on your data and put it on your y axis and remove the summarization
I'm not sure that I understand, currently the Results that I need to plot are on the Y-Axis. If I change this to the index number then surely I'll just be plotting the index numbers and not the results.....or am I missing something?
This is how the chart is currently configured
@Beelover , Add an index column to your table and that to Axis of visual along with date and expand) or not summarized column in the table
Power Query- Index Column: https://youtu.be/NS4esnCDqVw
Thank you for your suggestion, I added an index column and added it to the X-Axis however (assuming I have understood you correctly) this doesn't really give the result I was looking for. I now see each result in a seperate column with it's own date appended with the index number.
I would like to be able to see all the results above the date to which they relate without having the index number appended to the date. I hope that makes sense
Regards
Nigel
Did you ever find an answer to your question? It seems absurd that Power BI would be incapable of displaying something so obviously useful.
