Scatter chart problem

Hi All,

I am currently trying to do a scatter chart for a PowerBI challange and I am stucked.

I would like to show something very similar, where a pizzeria's capacity usage is shown:

There is a pizzeria, where maximum nr of seats is 60.  would like to show every month, every hour, just like in the picture, so it can be seen how many people were in the restaurant at that time.

I understand, that I need to show in the x axis the dates, and I need to change it to continouos version, however when I choose to show only month and year, I cannot change type of x-axis. I also have issue, what measure I should use in the y-axis or value. I have this measure:

TotalPeopleByHour =
CALCULATE(
    SUM('Pizza orders'[TotalPeople]),
    ALLEXCEPT('Pizza orders', 'Pizza orders'[OrderHour])
)
But my scatter is still the following:

What could be the solution? Could you please help?

Thank you!

Hi @Pamiko,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Power BI requires a DateTime column to enable a continuous X-axis in scatter charts. Using only month and year will treat the axis as categorical, so it won’t support hourly-level detail.

To visualize capacity usage by hour across the year, create a combined OrderDateTime column (date + hour), and use it on the X-axis. The Y-axis shows the total number of people per hour.
