I am tryng to save a .pbix file on Teams channel/SharePOint to colloborate with broader team. PowerBI desktop is not allowing me to save the file. I am one of the owners for SharePoint and has "Full Control" rights.

Whiel trying to use "Save As" option and selecting location from recent locations, PBI desktop does not connec to the SharePoint. Issue is with SP only as i am able to connect to Network storage drive.

This is poor, MS.  Two major technologies - PowerBI which creates files and Sharepoint which is a storage technology, and you can't store PowerBI files on Sharepoint storage without jumping through hoops.

The only way I have found to do this is to Synch the Teams Sharepoint folder and then use Windows explorer to browse to the Synched folder and save as if it were normal file storage.

I'd be in heaven if I could map the share point link to my power bi files to a network drive but somehow my company has managed to even shut that down.

Hi @Anonymous

You could save Power BI file in local device, then upload the file to SharePoint site.

  • Saving your Power BI files to SharePoint – Team Sites is much the same as saving to OneDrive for Business. The biggest difference is how you connect to the file from Power BI. You can specify a URL or connect to the root folder.

Or you could Publish Power BI report to Power BI Service, then embed the report to SharePoint as a Web part.

You could add a Power BI tab in Teams.
