Rohanbhowmick_0-1752825966624.png

So I am trying to connect the RDS string that is connected with SQL server , and that particular database string has multiple database in it , but when I am trying to connect a particular database this error is coming, not with any other database, so what is this issue can someone help me.

Even I have tried this below method

  • For on-premises data gateway
    1. Ask your on-premises data gateway administrator go to the local machine where the on-premises data gateway is installed, navigate to C:\Program Files\On-premises data gateway.
    2. Make a backup of the configuration file named Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.Pipeline.GatewayCore.dll.config.
    3. Open the original Microsoft.PowerBI.DataMovement.Pipeline.GatewayCore.dll.config configuration file and locate the SqlTrustedServers entry.
    4. Update the SqlTrustedServers value with the names of the SQL servers to trust and connect to.
Still not working.

Need help!

@Rohanbhowmick

Are you using Service principal authentication? if yes then does that SPN has permissions to access the db that you are trying to connect?

Have you tried connecting to that db from other client tools like SSMS, excel and data studio etc? if yes then were you able to connect?

Gateway instllation is not required in your case.

Hi @Rohanbhowmick

Unfortunately I don't have a direct solution for you, but this should help. It discusses the issue you're facing in detail and provides a possible kerberos fix towards the end.
