I'm working in Power BI Desktop on the company's notebook, and don't have authorization to install programs in the
C:\Program Files. So I installed Rstudio in another directory. My Power BI isn't recognizing the Rstudio IDE even when i show him the .exe path.
Does anyone know how I can solve it without changing the .exe directory?
Have you set the path to the IDE in power bi settings?
See screen shot of settings screen in...
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-r-ide
Yes.
Even with the path setted there, I still keep getting the "unespected error"
Maybe I dind't explain it correctly, R is working fine haha
The problem is when a I try to open the Rstudio IDE directly from the R script editor in Power BI, so I can work on the script with the selected columns.
Haha. I completely misunderstood.
Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with this error so maybe someone else can jump in.
If you want to use R in Power BI, you need to point it at the R home directory (where R is installed), not RStudio.
Since RStudio is a program for developing R and not the installation of the language itself, it would be a bit like linking to Notepad.exe if that's where you chose to edit your R instead.
