Row-Level Security Static

Hai All I need help on this,
I had created a role in power bi desktop and assigned a role in power bi service as static.
But if I click on the test as a role on the dataset security option only I can see the restricted data to mee, not the usual way. for eg. attaching image down 1 st image = Test as role(in this way through only I can see the restricted data)

2nd image (I cannot see the restricted data when through the traditional way)
The user cannot go to the 1st way(1st image)

  • Hi AlanP514 ,

The RLS only apply to the users which only have read permission than build permission , please make sure the users are all viewer rather than Member,Contributor or Admin.

Only the owner(Member,Contributor or Admin) of this workspace can configure RLS(test role) in power bi service.

For more detail, you can refer this article.

Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Pbix in the end you can refer.

    Best Regards

  • AlanP514 , Not very clear.

If you are an admin, you will not see a role filter impact, other than test role.

You need to assign users to roles see the data impact.
