I have a potentially simple problem, but even chat gpt cannot solve it.
Table DATE_DIM, field: [Week Start Date].
This field goes into a slicer.
I want to create a measure which will return exactly that date. And I am getting blanks. Why?
Formula (using several ones, all give me blanks):
Selected Week Start Date =
SELECTEDVALUE(Date_DIM[Week Start Date])
Solved! Go to Solution.
Did you use the same column in your slicer as in your measure? And is visual interaction enabled between the slicer and the card?
hello @some_analyst
i am not sure, but your DAX should be good.
unless if you did not select any date in slicer, then it would be return as blank.
Hope this will help.
Thank you.
Thanks @Irwan , I am really confused because I have the selected date
and the formula is this:
Slicer Select Week Start Date =
SELECTEDVALUE(Date_DIM[Week Start Date])
This date slicer filters the rest of the dashboard, just not this measure, there is definitely data there. I have no clue

Thanks @danextian , that is what it was: it was set up as a calculated column, and not a measure 🙂
