Retain the same order when Import Excel Data to PBI Desktop

Hi,

How do I keep the same order while importing Excel data?

I am new to PBI.  How to tell what sort order is being used in the table view?  Added a custom index, not sure how to make it as a primary sort order.  Is there any other way to approach this?

Thanks!

Sorting data in Power Query is extremely costly. Avoid it if you can. Add your index column in Excel, and then let Power BI do the sorting in memory.
