In Powwer BI, I get the error messagr The Query has exceeded th available resoutrces.  Try filtering or decrease the amount of data requested.

Wha are the wpork arounds to this isuue.

What connection mode are you using? If it's Import mode, I suggest you switch from Import mode to DirectQuery or Dual mode.

The error message “The Query has exceeded the available resources. Try filtering or decrease the amount of data requested” in Power BI occurs when a query or visual exceeds the memory or processing limits allocated by Power BI, particularly in the Power BI Service.

these are not workarounds but kind of best practice:

Apply filters at the data source level to reduce the volume of data being imported into Power BI. This minimizes unnecessary data processing and improves performance

Use Query Folding: Push transformations (e.g., filtering, aggregations) back to the data source so they are processed there instead of within Power BI

Reduce Data Granularity: Avoid loading unnecessary details.

Use calculated columns for expensive calculations that can be precomputed during data refresh instead of runtime measures

Eliminate or replace resource-heavy functions like `CROSSJOIN` and overly complex `SWITCH` statements

For large datasets, implement incremental refresh to load only new or updated data during refresh cycles

Limit the number of rows or data points displayed in visuals by applying “Top N” filters or slicers
