Reporting Date to year and month filter

Hi everyone,

I'm quite new to Power BI. I want to make visuals based on months and years (days are not given). 

My source is formatted as YYMM. So for example 2001 is January 2020, 1905 is May 2019.

Now my problem is the following: How do I go from the 2001 format to a year and a month that I can filter on?

@Anonymous , You can create date like

date(("20"& left([month],2))*1, right([month],2),1)

then you can use date table and time intelligence

YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD('Date'[Date],"12/31"))
Last YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year),"12/31"))

To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :radacad sqlbi My Video Series Appreciate your Kudos.
