Report Table slicer & Related Table

Hi this is maybe a simple question, but I cannot find an answer. I created a report that has a (1) chart for proposals by quarter and status name and a (2) table for proposals (to show details). Status is either won or lost. Now I can filter the table for example by selecting all Lost proposals from the last quarter of 2019 in the chart. But not all records will appear in the table in this report - the table holds the Status Name. If I change that table column to Status Value, the filter does work. How can I make this work by showing the status name in the report table, and not the value.

Proposal Table is related to Status Table, Many:1 by status value.

I have 2 tables that hold the data

Proposal Table

ProposalStatus Value
A1
B2
C1

Status Table

Status NameStatus Value
Won1
Lost2

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous ,

You must make an active relationship between the two tables by StatusValue, then use the Status Name as you column in the visualizations.

Be aware that you need to setup a one to many relationship with the one on the Status table and many on Proposal table.

Check attach PBIX.

@MFelix@MFelix Hi, thanks for the input. The data was already configured like this including the relationship.

The problem I have in the original file (I could share the pbix, but how do I do this as it contains privacy sensitive info), is that the report has a barchart and a table both with values/columns:

Proposal / Status Name / YearQuarter

Now if I select from the barchart lost or won proposals from a certain quarter these do not all appear in the table, Only when I add the statusvalue to the table visual, do all records appear.

Kind regards,

Hi @Anonymous ,

You can share the information trough private message if the information is sensitive or have a mockup file.

But if the data is as you refer the filtering between both visualization should work properly if you use the status column, even if you have any additional information I'm not seeing any reason for everything not working properly.

Miguel Félix
