Report Builder - How to filter a chart for no blank

I have a paginated report I'm building in report builder and I wanted to add a chart displayed above my table. The chart is below and shows a blank row in the legend. I want to remove this from the visual. I can't change the dataset because I need to see the blanks in other visuals.

Kind old post however just stumbled into the same issue as you and here is how to solve it:

Basiacally the language/ system is Tablix used in report softwares. and what you were looing for was this line. How to set it up just follow the instructions above, you can find the same menu in report builder by right clickng your field and adding a new filter field

=IsNothing(Fields!TestA.Value)<>True

This is probably new functionality since the OP's question... but in recent version of Power BI Report Builder, in the Query Designer you can choose DAX as the language.  So - I was able to use the Performance Analyzer in Power BI Desktop to tell me the Dax for field is not blank.  (operator = Custom - below goes in the FIlter Expression)

NOT('MyTable'[Department] IN {BLANK()})
Anonymous
Not applicable

@leahschneider
You may follow the step by step instruction for adding filters in report builder chart.
Add a Filter (Report Builder) - SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) | Microsoft Docs

@amitchandak Thanks. This did show me how to filter correctly but I still don't know how to say "is not blank" in whatever language this is. I got it working with "value+'x' <> 'x'" but that's a really hacky solution.

@leahschneider , right click on the field, in field property you have option for filter , see if you can remove blank there

@amitchandak  What do you mean by the field?

There is an option for filter in chart properties but I have no idea how I should write the query - in what language and how to reference the field. There is also a way to use an expression for the values but again I'm not sure what language or how to write not null.
