Report Builder Azure SQL Connection Problem

Hi,

I am trying to connect my local Report Builder to an Azure SQL database.    I set up the datasource using a fixed username and password (not Windows Authentication) and pressed Test Connection and all is well.

When I attempt to setup a dataset to use that datasource, I receive error messages about how it does not recognized tables or stored procedures

SELECT Column1, Column2

FROM TableA

Message would say:  "Invalid object name TableA"    When I run the exact same query in Azure Data Studio it works fine, so I doubt the problem is with the query, I think it is with the connection, but not sure what is wrong.   Any help appreciated.

Finally figured this out.   The server connection was offering me two different names for the database.  When I selected the other name, it worked.

Hi @SQLJiim ,

The table may not be found because the database name is missing.

Please try this

SELECT Column1, Column2 FROM <dbName>.TableA

Best Regards,

Wearsky

This does not work.   Same error message.
