Latest version of PBI Desktop does not seem to allow leading spaces in visual field names.
For example, I have a matrix with two columns and I only want the first one to have a title. Using June version of Desktop, I'm able to rename the second field as just a space and this way make the title invisible.
This was a very useful feature as we cannot control the format of separate matrix fields..
Hi @Anonymous,
Based on my test, with the latest version: 2.61.5192.601 64-bit (August 2018). I cannot rename the column as a space indeed. This behavior is by design. Here I suggest to change the font color the same as the background color in the visual to work around. Also you can edit the visual using the old version of desktop and save the pbix. Then open the pbix using the latest version.

Hi Frank(@v-frfei-msft),
Thank you for answering.
I agree changing the header color to match the background is a workaround for "invisible" titles however that limits the possibility to play around with value colors.
Regarding older versions - is there an official Microsoft archive of older versions of PBI Desktop? I have found a community member's archive which is very useful in situations like this but I would really prefer to use an official link.
Thanks,
Maria
Hi @Anonymous,
Based on my research, there is no offical link to get the older versions of PBI Desktop. As the latest version of desktop is always suggested to use.
