Removing data source but keeping data

We have taken on board a pbix file which has the data already in but the saource files that it refers to no longer exist.

When we try to refresh the other parts of the program it fails at the old sources.

How would be go about removing the source but keeping the data?

Thanks

Chris

hi @Anonymous

The only thing I cant think of is disabling "Include in Report Refresh" for that affected query.

I've now solved it by doing a copy paste to two new tables and in Query Editor performed an Append Query to the first table.
Pls make sure the headers are the same and they will flow together flawlessly.
I then deleted the connected file completely from the PBI.
Published it and the connection to Excel was gone!! 🙂

I do have the same problem, the only solution that I've found is to enter data manually by copying and pasting your data in your table source.

The problem is that it doesn't take more than 3000 cell, so it will ask you to split your table into smaller tables and then it suggest you to append them into one table.

it does solve the issue, but still a poor solution.
