Removing Custom Visual in Desktop

Is there currently a way to totally remove a custom visual from a report in the Desktop application?

I have removed every instance of the visual from a multi-page report and then removed the custom visual from the Visualizations toolbox. However, when I open the report again and try to add a custom visual (which is an upgraded version of the one I removed) I get a notification that the custom visual already exists, and I have the option to upgrade.

Since it doesn't appear that the original version of the custom visual was removed, I can't tell if the fact I am seeing the same (incorrect) functionality in the visual is due to the previous version still being used, or the new version of the custom visual still has issues.

I have a horrible feeling that the work around for this will be to rebuild the report, which is something I'd rather avoid if possible.

Thanks in advance for any info and guidance provided.

Cheers,
Adam

Copy your pbix file to a zip file. In Report directory, remove the CustomVisuals directory. Copy the zip file to a differently named pbix file so that your original is safe.

Alternatively, trust that the Custom Visual was upgraded.

Thanks for that @Greg_Deckler, that seems to have done exactly what I was lookin for (although might not have been something I could have done if I had other custom visuals that I was not having issues with in my report).

As an aside, it turns out that v1 of the visual had an icon, v2 had a different icon, and v3 (which was the one I was getting an upgrade message about) had reverted back to the original icon, which explains why I wasn't seeing any change in functionality. I may head over and submit an idea to see if there is some way that some metadata about a custom visual, such as a version number, can be displayed.

Cheers,
Adam
