Remove drill through filters

I want to remove drill through filters in a page2(Detail) except MonthYear slicer. I created a bookmark(Clear all filters) clearing all the slicers and drill through filters. The bookmark removes all filters and sets the MonthYear slicer to the value when it was created. I tried the bookmark for all visuals, selected visuals but it doesn't help.(Maybe I am missing something)

I want to clear all slicers, drill through filters except MonthYear slicer.

Hi @Manish1198,

The issue you're encountering where the "Clear all filters" button resets slicers but does not drill through filters is a known limitation in Power BI. Bookmarks cannot clear drill through filters because these filters are applied through the navigation context when drilling through from one page to another.
Alternate Work Around

  • Create a duplicate of your current Detail page. On this new page, remove any drill through fields to prevent automatic filtering.
  • Add a Navigation Button: On the original Detail page, add a button labeled .
Set this button to navigate to the duplicated Detail page.
  • Maintain the Month Year slicer: Ensure the Month Year slicer is synchronized between both pages to retain its selection.

By clicking the button, users will navigate to a version of the Detail page without any drill through filters applied, effectively clearing them.

Hi @Manish1198,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.

Thank you @ajaybabuinturi, for your valuable insights.

I’ve reviewed your setup and fully understood your requirement you want to clear all slicers and drillthrough filters on the Detail page, but retain the selection made in the MonthYear slicer.

I’ve reproduced your scenario and I’m happy to confirm that the expected behavior can be achieved by configuring the bookmark using the “Selected visuals” option, excluding the MonthYear slicer when creating the bookmark.

Steps I followed:

  1. On the Detail page, I selected all slicers except MonthYear.
  2. Created a new bookmark and named it ClearOtherFilters.
  3. In the Bookmark settings, I enabled: Data ,Display ,Current Page,Selected visuals.
  4. Assigned this bookmark to the "Clear all filters" button using the Action property.

Now, when clicking the “Clear all filters” button:

  • All other slicers and drillthrough filters are cleared
  • The selected MonthYear remains unchanged, just as you intended

For your reference, I’m attaching the updated.pbix file with the working solution.

Hi @v-saisrao-msft . Thank you for your response.
I have looked into the file and the the Clear all filters button as intended clears the slicers but fails to clear the drill through filters. Can you please check if it is possible to clear the drill through filters as well.

Hi @ajaybabuinturi . Thanks for your response.
I understand removing the initial value by clearing the slicer and updating the bookmark would help.

But I have the MonthYear(single select slicer) and all other slicers on Overall tab(Page1) synced to Detail tab(Page2). (So user doesn't have to select the slicers again in Detail tab)
When a user selects a monthYear and drill throughs from Overall tab to Detail tab, the user will see data wrt. applied slicers and drillthrough filters.
Now, if user want to clear all filters in Detail tab, the bookmark changes the MonthYear to the initial value.
Here, the bookmark should clear all filters but not clear/change the MonthYear slicer. Is this achieveable?

Thanks

Hi @Manish1198,
The issue is that when your updating/applying Bookmark the slicer has some initial value because of that whenever you clear the all slicers it went to the initial value. What you can do is you can clear/set to all the MonthYear slicer and again update the Bookmark or re-create the Bookmark again.

Thanks,
