Remove deleted files from recent

Hi, I'm having difficulty understanding why files that I have deleted from my PC are still showing in the recent within powerbi.

I have cleared the cache but this didnt work. Ive looked into the windows system files but the powerbi cache folder there is empty.

The most straight forward fix that I have read about is to use the remove un pinned feature from the 'get started menu' hower I have lost this function...I presume I said 'don't show me this again' once I became familiar with powerbi...now I can't get it back so that feature is not possible at the moment.

Out of around 30 of these recent files I have 3 pinned, these are the ones I want to keep...How do get rid of these other 27!?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Gimmerzz ,

Are you looking for this interface? You can do this by turning off powerbi home.

hi @Gimmerzz ,

try below steps

  1. Access the Get Started Screen: Go to the "File" menu in Power BI Desktop and select "Get Started". This screen is where you can manage your recent files and other Power BI settings.
  1. Clear Unpinned Items: On the "Get Started" screen, you should see a list of your recently used Power BI reports. Right-click on any of the items in this list. You will see options similar to those in Excel or Word, including "Clear unpinned items". Select this option to remove all unpinned items from your recent files list.
  1. Keep Pinned Items: Since you mentioned that you have 3 pinned items that you want to keep, ensure that these items are pinned before you clear the unpinned items. Pinned items are typically marked with a star or similar indicator and will not be removed when you clear unpinned items.

Hi, that would work but as mentioned I don't have the 'Get started button' - I know where it should be but it's not there. How do I get it back? Once I know that I should be able todo as you said. Thanks
