Happy Friday everyone!
For ease of use for my end-users when I developed our reporting platform I utilized the relative date filters visualization; however, sometimes I have end-users who'd like to be able to select certain timeframes outside of the relative date filters current options, so I started thinking of how I'd accomplish this and I think this is a useful solution for others as well.
Alongside the relative date filter, I paired it with the date filter with a slider.
To make the date filters cooperate, in Power BI Desktop, I selected the relative date filter visualization, then selected FORMAT from the toolbar, and EDIT INTERACTIONS.
Next, I allowed the relative date filter visualization to filter the new date filter with a slider I'd added in.
Here's the end result:
Date Solution
One challenge was the mini date calendar that would appear underneath the relative date filter, but if you place the necessary background color you can slide your new date filter with a slider over the top of it and create a nice experience for your end-users.
Cheers!

This looks really cool, but I'm having trouble getting the two slicers to emulate each other. Do these slicers need to be synced before edit interactions?
