Riddle with Power BI relationships!
The problem resides within Power BI ( and not source) where the relationship between fact and dim will not fully work. Issue starts with the long ID’s in the dim table. As you can see from the screenshot the mapping is incorrect. But it is only incorrect if:
1. ID’s are integers ( if we convert it to text, relationships work as desired). We desire them to stay integers
2. If we use ID’s in our dim table which are more than 9 digit numbers (shorter ID’s do get mapped correctly)
So the question I guess is – is there a digit limitation on numeric ID’s upon linking tables ?
