Refreshing Report

Hi , 

I would want to find out if it is possible to refresh a reports design for an already published report without deleting and re-uploading the version that I modify on my desktop app, or do I always need to delete the already published one and upload the one I modified to the same place? 
 
I dont want the URL of the published report to change. 
The plan is to make a Homepage for a few reports. But if the URL of the report changes the URL based link will not work anymore. 
I am pretty new to Power BI, it would be amazing if somebody could aid me with advices on how to go about it.

Thank you Vojtechsima. I did so and double checked the link. It seems to be the same and the permissions are still there 2 for extra users. 🙂

Hi  vojtechsima, 

I did some further testing and it seems unfortunately it still changes. 
I updated the existing report as advised and re-uploaded. 
First it seemed to apply changes but than later on I changed some details in some of the dashboards.
I launched the powerapp that is used as a Homepage and tried to use the button linked to the hyperlink. It led me to a previous version of the same report that had none of my updates integrated. 

This would be a considerable problem as I would need to update URL found in the app internally when I update a report.

Hello, @Anonymous ,

the way how you update existing reports is to, download the lastest version from workspace, do your changes, save it as the same name of the report as already published and Republish it again.

IT's gonna tell you that report exists, if you wanna re-publish it and you say Yes.

That will only update the report without changing any of the metadata such as Link.
