Hi,
I am building an online database (www.am4ae.weebly.com) using Powerbi. This is basically collecting projects by different universities and outputting results such as project details.
It's Probably easier to look at the images for explenation than the text below
Part of the problem is that sometime multiple universities work on the same project. Currently, this means that I input the project twice - once per university. However, this also means that I have to name a project with two different titles (EG: PROJECT A_UNIA and PROJECT B_UNIB). It also means that there is a false count in the number of projects referenced.
Is there a way such that when a project is searched multiple universiteis are referenced. Im not sure how to explain this, it's honestly best to see the attached images for an explenation.
Are they really different projects or are they not? If they aren't you probably should not have two project records.
This looks to be mainly a Data Model Issue don't be hasty there getting your data model right. If its one project maybe you need an additional table ProjectWorkgroup there you could store custom data for the specific University like a Name Alias and other properties which are university specific.
German comment: Und wenn du an der TU Darmstadt bist kannst du dich sicher mit irgendwem auf das korrekte Datenmodell einigen oder irgendwer schaut da mal drüber ob das passt oder Schmuh ist 🙂
