No, you can't do that because DAX-constructed tables are calculated after the query refresh completes. But why not just do the join in the query editor in the first place? The Merge button is perfectly capable of outer joins.

No, it's not possible. As KHorseman said, DAX-constructed tables are calculated after the query refresh completes. Any calculation in DAX won't be recognized in M query.
