Hi All,
We are developing a dashboard in direct query mode (snowflake database) where we use multiple tables/views and also applying row level security. We have few cross tabs in the dashboard and we pull data fields from multiple tables. When we compare with the import mode dashboard developed on top of sql server tables we could see some of the records are not showing up in the table. When we checked in the backend tables those records are there. Even if the records are missing, the grand total is showing the correct values.
When we remove some categorical field from the grid or remove aggregation of some metrics we could see the missing records are appearing in the view. Adding two screenshots ,
In this image you could see only one record is showing for the job with ordered amount 250, but there are two records in the backend for this job. The grand total here is showing 500 even though we have only one job with amount 250 in the grid.
Here when we removed the item desciption field then both the records are coming up in the grid. 'Item desciption', 'Item' and most of the metrics are coming from the same table.
Kindly help us to identify the root cause for this issue. This looks like a bug or limitations of powerbi. It would be great if anyone could help us with a solution for this.
Regards,
Abishek
