RadarChart by ClearPeaks Sorting
Hello,
I am trying to sort the categories of a Radar Chart (using the Clear Peaks add-on). However, even when I try to create a sorting column or measure, I cannot order the categories in the way I need them to. For example, I created a new column with just integers, and when I put it in the field wells (CategoryData), it orders it like this.
As you can see, this is not in any order (even if you look at the peaks), they are all just in disorder. How can I fix this?

probably ordered by the sum of values.

Custom visuals like the ClearPeaks Radar chart often lack full sorting functionality.
Even when sort fields are added, the visual typically honors only lexicographic string order. That’s why using numeric prefixes with proper padding is the most reliable solution.
Since you're using the CategoryNameIndicator field (e.g., "1 – US Manufacturing ISM"), the chart implicitly sorts alphabetically, not numerically. If the prefixes are inconsistent (such as "1 – ...", "10 – ...", "2 – ...") the sort will break.
So, try this workaround
Step 1: Pad IndicatorSort to Two Digits
Create a new calculated field in QuickSight:concat( lpad(cast([IndicatorSort] as varchar), 2, '0'), ' – ', [INDICATOR] )
Name this field something like RadarSortCategory. This will ensure the radar chart follows the correct circular order.
Step 2: Use This New Field in the Radar Chart
Drag RadarSortCategory into the Category field well.
Keep Percentile in the Values field.
Do not use IndicatorSort directly, let the prefixed string control the order.

Chaithra E.I tried this. I created a new column called "Column", and this is the definition (your syntax was not accepted by Power BI):
Column = FORMAT( [IndicatorSort], "00" )& " – "& [INDICATOR]The image below shows that the problem has not been resolved, as the order is all over the place. Any further help would be great!

Thank you for the update.You've taken the right steps to format and sort your category field, the ClearPeaks Radar Chart has known limitations when it comes to custom sorting. Specifically, The visual does not reliably honor "Sort by Column" relationships in Power BI. It tends to apply an internal lexicographical (alphabetical) sort, which overrides user-defined order even when numeric prefixes are used. Because this is a custom visual, its behavior is not fully aligned with Power BI's native sorting engine, and there is no built-in option to manually control the radial order of categories.
Consider using other Radar Chart custom visuals from AppSource that offer better sorting support, such as:
“Radar Chart by MAQ Software”
“Radar/Polar Chart by Akvelon”Since this appears to be a limitation of the visual itself, we recommend reaching out to ClearPeaks directly via a support ticket. Sharing your use case and the sorting issue may help them prioritize this feature in future updates.
