Our company has begun using MS Project for the Web and there is a nifty PowerBI template available from MS which nicely displays lots of metrics and KPIs. I have been tasked with tweaking the report to suit it to our needs. One aspect is gating the information for particular groups. There are 4 report pages: the first 2 which show project metrics from the user as well as other people in their team. The last 2 (are supposed to) show only the user's info. I have used RLS on the project manager field to filter the info accordingly for the first 2 pages, for example:
Team A:
[Project Manager] = "User 1" ||
[Project Manager] = "User 2" ||
[Project Manager] = "User 3"
Unfortunately, the last 2 pages, which should only show the user's info, are showing the entire team's info.
Is there any way to have a second layer of RLS using the same [Project Manager] field to isolate the individual user data on those last 2 report pages?
Do I need to split this report in 2 and then create a dashboard?
Hi @amitchandak , thanks for replying. Unfortunately, dynamic page navigation doesn't seem to help or at least I don't understand how it would help in this case.
I will simplify the problem I am having. Imagine there are 2 identical report pages which show project tasks. We want one of those pages to show project tasks for all users in a particular team. The other page should show only the individual tasks. Originally, the report showed all tasks for the entire company, so I used RLS to filter the information (see example from original post). That works fine for the page to display the team information but the page that is supposed to show indiviual tasks shows all the tasks within the team. Can I do RLS on a particular page to further filter down to the individual user?
Additionally, I have a dropdown on that page where a user can be selected. Can I dynamically set the drop down value based on the user viewing the report?
