According to Microsoft,
”RELATEDTABLE is a shortcut for CALCULATETABLE function with no logical expression",
so I assume that if/when there is a row context, then context transition occurs.
What about RELATED function ?
Does context transition occur with RELATED function too ?

Yes, i think it can be perceived that way.
When RELATED is used to bring value from the one side to the many side, there is no need to define any filter context, but the entire row is actually filtering to get the correct value, very similar to context transition.
