R script dataset has wrong codepage

Hello,

I am creating new dataset "languages" with R script, loading data from SAV file

library(foreign)

languages <- read.spss("C:\\data.sav", to.data.frame = TRUE, use.value.labels = TRUE)

If I execute it in R-studio I receive data with correct characters, but in POWER BI desktop is everything crippled, I used also optional parameter reencode to choose different codepage but nothing has changed in POWER BI desktop

Thanks for help

you may need to convert to ANSI first, or specify the code page during read.spss

What's the native encoding of the .sav file, 65001?

Hello yes, 65001

you may need to convert to ANSI first, or specify the code page during read.spss
