Hi guys, I am looking for an app that can help me present some data, and am hoping PowerBI is it.
I am comparing vehicles... diesel vs. EV.
So at the top I would like to have a drop down list to determine the vehicle type and another to determine the size (Main Slicers). I can see I can easily do that using the Slicer.
But then I would like to move into two columns.
Column A would have data relating to diesel, column B relating to EV.
So Column A would have a Slicer that lists the models of diesel vehicles in the type and size specified by the Main Slicers.
And Column B would have Slicer that lists the models of EV vehicles in the type and size specified by the Main Slicers.
Below each slicer in the columns the data for that vehicle would then load.
Ideally at the bottom there would be a graph that compares data between the two, i.e. cost, emissions etc.
I know this is too much to ask your help on - so just an idea of this is possible and maybe a rough idea of how to approach it. I am happy to do my own research and work, but right now I am struggling how to phrase the question to find the right resources! As you can probably tell from the above. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the response.
I cannot seem to upload the PowerBI file, so I have a screenshot linked here:
On the left you can select a BEV model, on the right a Diesel model based on the Slicers above (Catergory and Size). That all seems to work great.
I have included two sliders for parameters - cost of diesel and electricity.
So now I would like to display some key information below the "Model" slicer, this information will be based on the Electricity or Diesel columns in the data, and the parameters.
So for example I would like to display.
Hourly Cost (e.g. for BEV that would be Electricity (kWh) * Elecrticity price)
Daily Cost (e.g. for BEV that would be Electricity (kWh) * Elecrticity price * 😎
5 Year Total Cost (e.g. for BEV that would be Electricity (kWh) * Elecrticity price * 8 * 260 + Purchase Price)
Here is my data:
| Category | Size | Technology | Model | Purchase Price | Electricity (kW/h) | Diesel (l/h) |
| Truck | Big | BEV | Volvo T1E | £ 1,000,000.00 | 50 | |
| Truck | Big | Diesel | Volvo T1 | £ 200,000.00 | 20 | |
| Truck | Small | BEV | Renault A1E | £ 750,000.00 | 30 | |
| Truck | Small | Diesel | Renault A1 | £ 150,000.00 | 15 | |
| Van | Big | BEV | Skoda TVE | £ 500,000.00 | 40 | |
| Van | Big | Diesel | Skoda TV | £ 200,000.00 | 20 | |
| Van | Small | BEV | Nissan XE | £ 250,000.00 | 20 | |
| Van | Small | Diesel | Nissan E | £ 100,000.00 | 15 | |
| Car | Big | BEV | Ford AE | £ 150,000.00 | 20 | |
| Car | Big | Diesel | Ford A | £ 100,000.00 | 10 | |
| Car | Small | BEV | Peugeot TE | £ 50,000.00 | 10 | |
| Car | Small | Diesel | Peugeot T | £ 20,000.00 | 5 |
Hi @Anonymous ,
In order to better understand your demands and give the right solution, could you please provide some more specific information? such as your desensitized example data and a screenshot of your desired results?
Thanks for your efforts & time in advance.
