Query won't refresh in model

Hi,

I have a model with a number of tables in it. One of the tables won't refresh, and hasn't refreshed in over a month, despite refreshing the model MANY times since it's last sucessful refresh. When I open the query editor it shows all new rows that the query has brought in, however, when I 'Close & Apply' those rows aren't then pulled into the model, despite the table name appearing in the list of queries being refreshed.

The query that isn't refreshing has the 'Include in Report Refresh' and 'Enable Load' boxes checked & there are no filters applied in the model.

I can't seem to fix it!

I've been searching for hours now to try and find a method to fix it, to no avail, so I'm hoping one of you clever people will know what to do!

Many thanks

@Lee5150 , That sounds strange. Please try the following: Go to File > Options and Settings > Options > Data Load > Clear All Cache and try again.

Also, check if there are any pending Windows patches. If there are, install them, as they can cause unusual behavior.

Hi,amitchandak ,thanks for your concern about this issue.

Your answer is excellent!
And I would like to share some additional solutions below.
Hello,@Lee5150 .I am glad to help you.
According to your description, the problem you are currently experiencing is that when you question table in power query it will show updates in Advanced Editor, it shows up in the update list, but the current situation is that when you close Power Query in Power BI Desktop, the table that is in question doesn't load the actual updated data, and you can't find this information in the The information is not found in the model.
Please let me know if my understanding is correct, and if it differs from your real situation, please point it out.
What type of data source are you connecting to, is it excel, database (My SQL), analysis service model or some web data?
Please tell us in detail the type of data source and the connection mode. This will help you to locate the problem.
In fact, the problem you are experiencing is very strange. If your report has been published to an advanced workspace and you have XMLA endpoint read/write enabled, you can try to connect to the workspace using SSMS and create a DAX query to see if the table you are having problems with actually has refreshed data in the model.
Llike this: (you need to have a PPU license or premium license and have XMLA read/write access enabled)

You can check if there is actually data in the tables in your model that is not loaded, so you can troubleshoot the problem on the power BI desktop and focus the problem on Power Query!

It is important to note that data processing in Power Query is in a preview state
This means that the changes and transformations you make will not immediately affect the original data source or the final data model until you choose to “Close and Load” or “Apply” the changes.
So even though the power query shows the correctly processed data rows, they may not actually be loaded into the model for some reason.
You need to check if the corresponding data in your data source has changed, preferably by clearing the cache in power BI desktop and reconnecting to the data source to revalidate the data credentials to avoid any interference from the previous data cache.
Check to see if the data source where the table you are having trouble loading exists and if you have access to that data source.
If you can, reduce the amount of data in your model and remove unnecessary data to avoid loading a lot of data during data processing.
Please provide screenshots of the data model and data source (without sensitive information), this will help to solve your problem.

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Best Regards,

Carson Jian,
