Hi Team,
i'm getting this error quite frequently can you help me please?
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT.... it happens very frequently and the source file is on share point!
Changing the query is a nightmare!
you should make this easier

Hey!
While I don't have experience with this error, searching the error on Google produces a lot of results. The following URL takes you to a thread in the PBI Community:
If there is an easy solution in that problem, it would be to make sure the excel file is .xlsx rather than .xls file. That was mentioned by a moderator. Here is the moderator's comment:
As this article described: "Power BI supports importing or connecting to workbooks created in Excel 2007 and later. Workbooks must be saved as .xlsx or .xlsm file type and be under 250 MB". Currently, you need to change files from type .xls to .xlsx in order to fix this issue.
It looks like some tried that and still encountered the problem, but if it is something you can try without having to move mountains--it might work.
Hi ccakjcrx,
thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately I can't change the source file extension as macros process some raw data in it, and change it everytime would make the feed even more complicated ( duplicates creations, query to be re adapted everytime)
Unfortunately when it comes to work with Sharepoint located sources, Power Bi is just miserable and to change a source you have to redo everything from scratch which means losing massive amount of work.
Despite all the updates Microsoft is realeasing this error is still there. I get that Power BI is a brand new product and adaption and improvement is on the pipeline but this is just ridicolous as the source file is Excel (Microsoft product) on sharepoint (microsoft product).
And BTW, coming from that conversation:

Hi mike_honey,
I can reproduce the issue as yours. I will report it internally and post back once I get any update.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
After changing the file type into .xls and adjusted all the queries, this is now the error:
Hi @Anonymous,
What is the result after installing Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider?

Still Faulty 😞
this issue happens when Sharepoint is involved. If i pull data from a normal shared drive generally works. ok
