Hi All,
I have some fundametal questions about the deployment of dashboards -
1. Can we publish the dashboard in someone else's workspace, if give access- if no then how can the dashboard be published on someone else's Power BI service?
2. Can we set up the RLS at the workspace level or at dashboard level ?
3. In a workspace, can we give partial access to someone, so that he/she can view only some of the dashboards in that workspace?
4. Do we need to set up 3 workspaces for Test, UAT and Production or can be managed through Deployment pipeline in one workshop? - If it can be managed in one, can the version controlling be done through that?
5. Can the dashboard published at different stages of Deployment pipeline be hosted at different web portals, example - the dashboard that's at the Devlopment level will be hosted at a Development portal, then the Test and Production dashboards will also follow the same process
6. Can we view the dashboard, deployed on a web portal with a single login from the portal? (so that the end user won't need a sign in for Power BI service again)
Thanks,
Kharansu

Hi @Anonymous ,
1. You need to be Contributor permission in the workspace.
Roles in workspaces in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
2. RLS cannot be set in the work area. For setting RLS on the dashboard, you can test the following link;

3. You can directly use the Share method to directly send a specific dashboard to a specific user without adding the user to the workspace..
Share Power BI reports and dashboards with coworkers and others - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
4. The Deployment pipeline requires three workspaces corresponding to three stages, and cannot be done with just one workspace, which is the design of Power BI.
5. Cannot be hosted on different web portals, and workspaces cannot cross web portals
6. Can you explain how your dashboard is shared, and under what circumstances you will log in twice, you can click About Power BI in Power BI, and give the tenant URL to others, and others only need to log in once to access all the content.
Best Regards,
Liu Yang

Thanks a lot for your help. I have some follow up questions for 5th and 6th point.
5. As a background, I maintain Test and Production portal for Client. Once they approve everything is correct on test then I move to production and schedule the refreshes (this is for Tableau). Now here, Do I need to maintain 2 different workspaces for Test and Production dashboards, so that I can host them on Test and Prod portals and give the access to the clients?
6. Can you please share some more information about it and share the full screenshot?
Thanks,
Kharansu
