Problems in Update

Community, Good Day
Over the weekend I had problems with the gateway, so the models were failing when updating and it is well known that after several errors in the update, it is deactivated
This morning I find that I cannot activate the scheduled update and it indicates the following error

It is important to emphasize that this is with some models, this problem did not affect all my models
In addition, it had also happened to me before and there was no problem in reactivating the scheduled update afterwards

If anyone knows what the solution is, I would appreciate it
Thank you very much in advance

Best regards

Hi @Syndicate_Admin,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

It looks like you are facing issues reactivating the scheduled refresh for some of your Power BI models after gateway failures over the weekend. Since some models are affected while others are not, we can go through a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

* Please verify Gateway status if the gateway is online and running properly.

* You can also check credentials of your data source and ensure they are valid.

* Try Manual refresh and If it fails, please check the Refresh History for any error messages and share the details.

* Check if there is any Schema Changes in the dataset which is connected to an external data source.

I would also take a moment to thank @lbendlin, for actively participating in the community forum and for the solutions you’ve been sharing in the community forum. Your contributions make a real differe

Good day, I hope you're well

Thank you very much for your answer.

I checked all the steps you suggested and it kept failing, the only solution and the fastest was to delete it from the workspace, repost it and share.

Now, there is a detail that I suppose maybe has something to do with it, There was at one time, maybe last month or before where for a while automatic updates could be scheduled more than 8 times, and I applied it only in those 2 models, now it is no longer possible and I understand, why when I activated the updates and hit apply it indicated the error, When I republish them I only left 8 and saved without problem

It's the only thing I can really think of that could have happened or if you know anything else I'd like to know.

Best regards

Hi @Syndicate_Admin,

Regarding your observation about exceeding 8 scheduled refreshes, you're right asPower BI has a limit of 8 refreshes per day for Pro users and 48 refreshes for Premium workspaces. While there was a temporary period where additional refreshes were allowed, this was likely an unintended behavior or part of a temporary service change by Microsoft.

If a dataset was previously configured with more than 8 refreshes, it’s possible that Power BI flagged it as invalid when trying to save the refresh settings under the current limits. Republishing the dataset with only 8 scheduled refreshes would have aligned it with the enforced policy, which explains why it worked afterward. You can always check the dataset’s refresh frequency in Settings the Scheduled Refresh.

If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.
