Hello! The following issue is starting to get messy and lot of time going nowhere. I'm looking for advice on customizing synched slicer behavior.
I have 2 datasets: (1) a "reporting week" and the reporting week's respective data entries; and (2) calendar data, given calendar dates and various upcoming events. (All date fields are formatted as dates).
The report has numerous tabs that make it cumbersome to apply individual slicers per tab, so I prefer to add as few slicers as humanly possible across the entire report. Each tab contains the following visuals:
(1) The reporting week data entries in a table, which should be filtered by reporting week (easy)
(2) Calendar events in a table, which should show events 30 days beyond the reporting week date (not easy to use in conjunction with #1).
The slicers just will not filter both of these datasets. I've tried syncing and unsyncing slicers to no avail, because what I really want is for each of the two visuals to filter based on its own slicer (1 slicer for visual 1, and another slicer for visual 2, as in a maximum of two slicers for the entire report). Unfortunately, since both visuals exist on the the same tab, I can't seem to separate their behaviors from one another.
Thank you in advance!
(Side note, I'm using my Microsoft partner account to post this; I am NOT a Microsoft employee as my avatar suggests!)
Hi @maibacher ,
can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data
Best Regards,
Liu Yang
