Prevent Authentication Credentials from Saving

Hi, everybody,

I have a connection to Salesforce Objects that, for whatever reason, keeps saving my authentication settings.  I want the user to be prompted to use their Salesforce login whenever they run the query, which works when I go into the Data Source Settings and Edit Permissions > Delete Credentials (the Salesforce OAuth prompt comes up as expected when running the query after this).  However, whenever the other users run that query again, it then saves their Salesforce credentials, and gives the next user an error message when trying to re-connect (instead of asking them to log-in).

I'm trying to avoid having my users go into the Data Source Settings to delete the saved credentials every time they need to run the query, is there a way to get Power BI to refrain from saving these credentials?

Thanks for your help!

@doctornick0,

In the case of using DirectQuery or connect live mode to connect to some data sources(SQL Server, SSAS), Power BI Desktop will prompt user to login with their own account each time a different user opens the PBIX file.

However, for salesforce object data source, it is not possible to prevent authentication from saving as you describe. In your sceanrio, you can consider to configure Row Level Security in the PBIX file and share dashboard to users in Power BI Service.

Lydia
