[PowerBI Help] Using Azure Blob Storage as a data source for Power BI

Hi,

This is my first post so sorry if the formating isn't as good.

I'm working on a project voor school using PowerBI and Azure Blob Storage as the data source. Now when I try to import the data to PowerBI I get the following metadata into my powerbi file.

What I'm trying to see is the contents of theses files, which I'm unable to see at all.

I saw a youtube video guide on how to do this, I'm following the right steps but when it comes to this next screenshot, I cant click on the 2 arrows downward to combine anything. It looks impossible to extract any file information so far. All help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

If you require more information please ask so I can provide.

    Hi yopowerbi ,

The steps to connect to Azure Blob Storage using Power BI desktop are as follows, so please repeat them:

    • Open Power BI Desktop.
    • Go to Get Data and select Azure Blob Storage.
    • Enter the account name or URL of your Azure Blob Storage account.
    • Select an authentication method and sign in.
    • Once connected, you should see the Navigator dialog box, which shows the files in your Azure Blob Storage account.
    • Select the container you want to use.
    • Now you can use Power Query to convert and clean the data.

More details about connecting to Azure Blob Storage using Power BI desktop can be found below:

Azure Blob Storage - Power Query | Microsoft Learn

Here are some of my troubleshooting suggestions:

    • Ensure that the files in Azure Blob Storage are in a format that Power BI can read (e.g., CSV, Excel).
    • Verify that you have the required permissions to access and read files in Azure Blob Storage.
    • Ensure that you are using the latest version of Power BI Desktop, as updates often include bug fixes and new features.

    Thank you Yang,

Updating the PowerBI application helped. I was not aware that there was an update pending.

Now that I made some steps, I have another question. How exactly can I make this data import method work with multiple files, as of right now I imported one, but the other seems to be ignored. Could you explain to me how this works?
