How to hide a folder of measures for all roles but one

Hi,

I have created an empty table (Called "Important Measures") and in it a folder which holds some of my main calculated measures. Through Tabular editor I was able to hide the "Important Measures" for all roles by setting their Object level security to None, and then setting the OLS for the DEV role to default. It works.

Now we are having a lot of new roles added to the Power BI and I don't want to do the same thing again and again (Setting OLS to none) for all of them. Is there a way to make this bounded by an expression, for example, if the role = DEV then show the "Important Measures"?

Thank you in advance

Hi @Anonymous
If you are giving access to the pbix file, there is no option to hide measures.
But if your question is about report users, then you can modify them as "viewers " of workspace and then they can't edit the report and see tables/measures except for the report itself (visualizations).

Was it really possible to create OLS for users with Contributor access? I need to do this also but all the MS docs say that it doesnt work for Contributors, only Viewers.
Also assuming it does work....once OLS is applied on columns or tables, do visuals which use those columns still work? or only if Read but not None?

Hi @Ritaf1983,

Thanks for the reply. I want to do this for the contributors. We have a few calculated measures which the business team wants them to be hidden from the contributors and only visible to a group of people. For that group they have created a role called "Extended", putted all the measures into a folder in a blank table and by using the Tabular editor, blocked access to it for all other roles.

The problem is that every time we want to add a new role, someone has to go to tabular editor and set the new role's permission to none to access that folder. I want to avoid that and make it a little more automatic.
