PowerBI Excel Add-in no longer supported?

Hi there,

Can someone tell me officially from Microsoft if the PowerBi Addin for excel is no longer supported?  My IT team is telling me this but I want to confirm.

Thanks.

Screenshot of the add-in that i mean is below.

@Anonymous - That add in is called Microsoft Power BI Publisher for Excel. I have a pretty recent version of Excel from Office 365. It is version 2002 (Build 12527.20880 Click-to-Run) That COM plug-in is not available to activate. So, I would agree with your IT department that that add-in is likely deprecated.

Also, this thread seems to confirm it as well:

Hi there,

I have seen that link.  It does look like the add-in is supported but its back from May so Microsoft might have changed their mind.  Does anyone from Microsoft know if it's still supported?

Hey @Anonymous ,

you have to aware that this forum does not necessarily provide the "official" answer you are looking for.

You might raise an issue on issues.powerbi.com

or create a support ticket with MSFT directly.

Regards,

Tom

@Anonymous , Curate featured tables for Excel (preview) was released in May 2020, see if that can help
